We owe deep gratitude to Cynthia Callsen, the creator and initial Planning Coordinator of NY Metro Focusing - and to her Planning Group successors - Joan Lavender and Larry Hurst. Larry continues to give generously of his time, energy and wise counsel to help coordinate, develop, implement and sustain the group.
We owe deep gratitutde to Cynthia Callsen, the creator and initial Planning Coordinator of NY Metro Focusing, and to those who succeeded her in that role – Joan Lavender, Larry Hurst, and Susan Deisroth. Larry Hurst was special in his support and partnering with Cynthia in the process of bringing NYMF into being. He, Naomi Glicken and Jude Cobb gave generously of their time, energy and wise counsel from before the beginning and throughout the years in helping to develop, implement, coordinate, and sustain this organization. Katya Salkinder too was a founding member of the Planning Group and brought her light and unique perspective to those beginning years.
Appreciation is extended to Griffith Feeney, an early member of the Planning Group, who gave generously of his time and considerable technical skills to set up our mailing list and the beginning ideas for website design. Thanks to Cynthia Callsen for creating the original website on the current platform, Mary Jane Wilke for interim technical and backup support, and ultimately Marcella Calabi, who for several years took on considerable responsibility for revising, updating, and
maintaining our website. Thanks to others who contributed writing and design expertise to help create our website: Larry Hurst, Elizabeth Lehmann, Robin Kappy, Naomi Glicken, and
Ellen Kirschner.
Planning Group Members, over the years, managed finances, communications, rental, note taking, coordinating with Presenters, refreshments, sign-in table, set-up, and cleanup, in addition to attending our regular meetings to generate our programming and continally refine our process and purpose. In this list, members marked with ** are those who carried the overall and great responsibility of Planning Group Coordinator, often for several years at a time.
