FINDING THE WISDOM WITHIN

Facilitated by  Susan Deisroth

What sustains us in life?  How can we reach deep down to find that which will encourage, strengthen and guide us in the face of experiences of suffering and loss?  In this workshop we will spend time in a focusing way to find and work with our own personal meaning of wisdom.  We will sense how it lives in others who mean something to us and how, through our appreciation of the wisdom in another, we can discover it within ourselves as well.

This evening’s facilitator:

Susan Deisroth, LCSW, has been a psychotherapist for 30 years.  She did her postgraduate training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.  She studied Focusing with Robert Lee and Ann Weiser Cornell and Wholebody Focusing with Kevin McEvenue and Karen Whalen.  Susan is a Certified Focusing Professional and is presently taking the Focusing Oriented Relational Psychotherapy training with Lynn Preston and others.  Susan maintains a private psychotherapy practice in New York City.

New York Metro Focusing Mission Statement

The mission of New York Metro Focusing is to embody and carry forward the practice of Focusing and the philosophy that supports it as developed in the work of Eugene Gendlin and others.  By holding regularly scheduled meetings, NY Metro Focusing will offer members of this local geographic community ongoing opportunities to connect, share and grow in their appreciation and practice of Focusing.  The group will welcome newcomers by offering them an opportunity to learn about the life-enhancing practice of Focusing.  In this way, NY Metro Focusing will help to engender a thriving and visible presence for the practice of Focusing in the New York Metropolitan area.
