From Loneliness to Solitude
A Focusing Exploration led by Sharron Kaplan

Have you ever experienced loneliness in the company of others?  Many people relate to this experience and may struggle to find a way to handle themselves.  Then there is the experience of solitude which is different from loneliness.  Is it possible to experience a felt sense of solitude in the company of others?  If so, what does it take? This will be an evening of a focusing exploration of what these words bring to us. There will be both private process and a group process that will be a focusing oriented conversation.

Sharron Kaplan is a psychotherapist who holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Social Work and a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis.  She is trained in hypnosis and meditation and has taught Mind-Body Training and Medical Practice at Mt. Sinai Medical School.  She is a frequent presenter and has published extensively in her field.  She is a certified focusing professional, having trained with Robert Lee.  She has also completed the training program in Focusing Oriented Relational Psychotherapy and has a private practice in Manhattan.

NY Metro Focusing meetings offer an opportunity to engage in a felt sensing, interactive exploration of topics of interest – slowing down, listening from a Focusing place, and letting what we hear resonate within to bring something new and fresh, both within ourselves and within the group.
