NEW YORK METRO FOCUSING
Sunday, February 2, 2014
MEETING PROGRAM
4:30 pm – 7:00 p.m.
REACHING OUT - REACHING IN: Exploring the Spatial Elements of Focusing
"Awareness of Space is the key that ties together our inner and outer world and shows how we can include everything and need ignore nothing" - The Focusing Institute's Newsletter 'Staying in Focus,' May 2009.
Space is boundless and we are a living part of it. Everything exists in an interactional state, from the interstellar to the intracellular. Spatial interaction governs our everyday survival, growth and evolution. Our inner sense of being and outer sense of belonging are wholly intertwined.
Focusing offers us the opportunity to become freshly aware of the fullness of space within ourselves; and how it connects with everywhere around. This evening we shall sample and explore the felt sense of that awareness - individually and collectively - using imagery, sound, gesture and movement…. pausing from time to time to honor what is happening, and allowing it to permeate.
This Evening’s Facilitator:
Larry Hurst is a graduate life-skills coach and Focusing trainer with a professional background in east-west health sciences. He is a founding member of the cross-cultural Community Wellness Focusing Group, New York Metro Focusing, and the Focusing-and-body-movement project 'Meeting at the Edge.'
