7:05 pm    FOCUSING FROM FULLNESS:   How Focusing Can Support Us To Live More Fully From
            Who We Are    with Charles Herr, PhD
In this presentation, Dr Herr will share his ideas and work on how focusing with positive experience not only helps us to enhance experience of what is enjoyable, but it can generate inner resources that support us to be present with more negative and troublesome experiences and to live more fully with clear direction and purpose. It can allow us to move forward in a new way toward what we want in our lives.  Dr. Herr will also share his work with Nonviolent Communication and Focusing and how the practice of focusing with positive experience relates to the NVC practice of embodying needs or values. There will be an experiential component to the presentation, including a guided group exercise and a demonstration with a volunteer.

Charles Herr, PH.D. is a Focusing trainer and Director of Psychology and Training at Gouverneur Healthcare Services, Manhattan, (part of New York City Health and Hospitals Corp.).  He is a certified focusing oriented therapist and a graduate of the William Alanson White Institute with a certificate in psychoanalysis.  He has also had extensive training and practice in Nonviolent Communication.
