6:30 pm Registration and networking with light refreshments
7:00 pm Welcome & Attunement - Joan Lavender Introduction of Presenter - Larry Hurst
7:15 pm FELT SENSE:WRITING WITH THE BODY Sondra Perl, Ph.D.
This is an experiential evening wherein Sondra will guide us through writing based on Focusing principles. Everyone will have an opportunity to practice through simple writing exercises.
Sondra Perl is a professor of English and Urban Education at Lehman College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. A trainer in the Focusing network, she collaborated with Gene Gendlin on the use of Focusing in writing which then led to the publication of her book, “Felt Sense: Writing with the Body”. Sondra has taught writing workshops on college campuses and at retreat centers in the US and abroad for over thirty years. Among her other books is “On Austrian Soil: Teaching Those I Was Taught to Hate”, a memoir on the importance of dialogue in a post-Holocaust world. 8:30 pmBreak and Networking

This is a grass roots, member-run organization.We welcome your involvement.The planning group meetings are open to anyone interested in attending.
New York Metro Focusing Mission Statement Adopted on 8/15/08
The mission of New York Metro Focusing is to embody and carry forward the practice of Focusing and the philosophy that supports it as developed in the work of Eugene Gendlin and others. By holding regularly scheduled meetings, NY Metro Focusing will offer members of this local geographic community ongoing opportunities to connect, share and grow in their appreciation and practice of Focusing.The group will welcome newcomers by offering them an opportunity to learn about the life-enhancing practice of Focusing.In this way, NY Metro Focusing will help to engender a thriving and visible presence for the practice of Focusing in the New York Metropolitan area.
